Reading Phoenix Choir members went up to Harpenden to sing again with the Music Makers of Harpenden on Saturday 17th May 2025.
The audience was treated to a variety of music from each choir individually in between a selection of music by the united voices of both choirs with the church organ, played by Richard Leach.
The two musical Directors, Christopher Hann for Reading Phoenix and Samuel Huston for Music Makers, shared the opportunity of conducting the combined choirs for music by Bruckner, Monteverdi, Wesley and Gabrieli. There was a surprise extra piece at the end of the concert, with the combined choirs singing Billy Joel's much loved song And So It Goes, arranged for choir by Bob Chilcott.
The audience went home very happy!
